The Property on which No 70 Richmond Road lies was part of the 1823 Grant to Captain Robert Lethbridge. Part of the Grant was sold in 1832 to John and Margaret Connor, and then subdivided in 1842 to include an 800 acre parcel that was sold to Thomas Fitzsimmons. Thomas Fitzsimmons owned the Royal Hotel on the South side of Richmond Road. The property remained titled to Fitzsimmons until 1889 then part of the 800 acre estate was sold to John Swinefield. Restoration was begun in 2014 and was mostly destroyed in 2018 and rebuilt by 2019. |
