Castlereagh – John Lees’ 2nd House Site

John Lees built a second house to the north of his 1819 chapel fronting (Old) Castlereagh Road, which he occupied until he died in 1836. This house was then occupied by various members of his family until the 1930s. The cottage was demolished sometime between 1970 and 1982, with evidence remaining in the form of footings, a well and a chimney. image
