Plumpton – Woodstock

Walter Lamb began purchasing land near Rooty Hill on the western side of Eastern Creek in the 1870s. By 1878 he had built a new residence on the Rooty Hill land, called Woodstock. 1000 acres were cleared, and cultivation was beginning. Land was also cleared to develop a New Plumpton Coursing Ground and hares were being breed for greyhound racing. image
