Doonside – Railway Station Group

A platform was opened very early as siding to the Crawford Farm known as Crawford’s Siding. This was located in the vicinity of the end of Rosenthal Street (notionally as it would hit the railway).
The first platform at Doonside was opened in 1880. It was known as both Wolkara and Doonside until 1921. It was renamed Doonside in 1921, when the area began to be subdivided for small farms.
