St Marys – Beacroft Butchery and Slaughter Yards

These old buildings are the remains of the Beacroft Butchery. The land was originally part of a grant in 1820 to Phillip Parker King. It was known as Triangle Farm. This land was subdivided in 1898 and 22 acres was sold to George Edward Beacroft. In 1938 was transferred to Mary Elizabeth Beacroft, wife of Edward Thomas Beacroft (Butcher). In 1942 the Commonwealth Government acquired the land. image
