The former school complex provides the focus for appreciating the development of a rural community at Cranebrook in the last decades of the nineteenth century with the construction of public buildings to serve the dispersed rural community. The former classroom block and attached teacher’s residence was completed in 1883 and is one of four public schools erected in the region over 1879-1883 which demonstrates the emergence of the provision of public education within the LGA following the Public Schools Act of 1866 and the high rural populace of the time. | ![]() |
