The Crawford family developed a number of houses within their estate over the years and Hill End Road developed as a street north from the Railway Station in the early 20th Century. Houses along Hill End Road were owned by the Crawford Family including a house in West Earle Street (Demolished 2014) that may have been the “Hill End” referenced in a 1923 image (nla a7792004) as Robert Crawford’s House. This house had a similar form to the current “Hill End” at 82-84 Hill End Road but was older. | ![]() |
