Huntingwood – Honeyman House / Petrol Station / Kiosk

The Honeman family acquired the block on which stands their family home and the remains of an old service station in 1939. When they arrived, the location was already operational as a Western Road wayside stop and diner (operated by a Mrs Chambers), and the house on the south‐eastern corner of the property was already standing. Herald Honeman and his wife and two sons continued to operate the site as a stopover and diner, extending it to offer full service station facilities (with fuel supplied by the Shell Company). image
