Rosenallis is an historic 1884 cottage at 76 Richmond Road, Blacktown, on the corner of Kent Street. Built by Reverend William Hawkins, who had preached through the Manning Valley and Taree area for many years. Originally included a large fruit orchard. Later became an unofficial orphanage under his daughter Florence.
The house became the subject of a controversial development proposal in 2009. Several local historic societies and the National Trust fought for its retention, but it was demolished in 2010 for two dwellings. Maria Hawkins died in 1911 and Reverend Hawkins in 1917. The house was owned by descendants of the Hawkins family until 2006. |
