The Cottage at 24 Princess Mary Street is a fine example of a late nineteenth century brick Gothick revival style cottage that demonstrates a phase in the development of St Marys in the 1880s and after the railway. The cottage is one of a row of cottages on Princess Mary Street of comparable scale and age fronting Victoria Park, and form a major component of the small number of extant structures in St Marys erected over the nineteenth century and early part of the twentieth century. Collectively the cottages demonstrate the pattern of a village settlement after the coming of the railway. The row provides a backdrop of historic and aesthetic significance to Victoria Park. | ![]() |
